Foo Fighters put on an epic performance
At the Mid-America Center back in 2008, I had seen Daughtry and considered it one of the best concerts I had ever been to. This show definitely topped that one and may never be outdone. They played several hits from each of their albums, while also throwing in 4 cover songs. They also made sure to play a good amount (6 of the 12 tracks on Wasting Light) of their new material without going overboard.
This is in large part due to the fact that Motorhead were unable to perform, leading the Daughtry to put on an extended show for us. His interaction with the crowd was definitely a highlight, especially with a few f-bombs thrown in. As usual, Dave was all over the stage and running thorugh the crowd to get to another smaller stage at the other end of the floor.
For comparison, the 2008 show consisted of an 18-song set (15 and 3 encore), while this show was a huge 29-song set (20 and 9 encore) that went over 2 1/2 hours. I was a little disappointed with some of the crowd leaving early, maybe the 2 hours of the show they did see was enough for them, but I would have stayed for as long as they wanted to keep playing. as it is, this is one show I will never forget.
